Sultans of String celebrate the release of Symphony! a CD that brings the glorious sound of a full orchestra to their feisty world-jazz compositions. The Sultans are Chris McKhool-violin, Kevin Laliberte-guitar, Eddie Paton-second guitar, Drew Birston-bass and Alberto Suarez-percussion. The Sultans of String were nominated for a 2010 Juno Award for Instrumental Album of the Year and 2012 Canadian Folk Music Awards for Instrumental Group of the Year, World Group of the Year and Pushing The Boundaries. In 2008 and 2009 they were first place winners in the instrumental category in the International Songwriting Competition. Known for dizzying roots music jams, poly-rhythms and revved up riffs, Sultans of String can’t be pinned down. Sable Island meets the Silk Road, with detours through the Gypsy-Jazz coffeehouses of Eastern Europe, an East Coast Kitchen Party, then over to the majestic Arctic and vibrant streets of Havana.

Magnolia Buckskin released their self-titled debut CD in 2010, offering bohemian cowgirl and gospel-touched, folk roots music. Kathy Cook is a sultry-voiced, multi-instrumentalist inspired by her love of Celtic, folk, roots and country music.
